Senator Grassley named to adoption advisory council

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON (KWWL) -

Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley has been named a member of the Advisory Council of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.  He joins other members of Congress and child welfare advocates to advise the institute on policy efforts to help children.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute was founded in 2001.

The organization invited Grassley to serve on its advisory council for his “long-standing and tremendous leadership in child welfare in the United States Senate,” citing his role in the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997, his “steadfast engagement with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption” and his leadership in forming the U.S. Senate Caucus on Foster Youth.
