DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Monticello man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to OWI and eluding charges after deputies say he led sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase on Hwy. 136 south of Dyersville.

According to a release from the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, Ryan Husmann and another person were sleeping in a car on the side of the road at 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

When the deputies tried to wake him up, he refused to open the door and instead took off, they said.

The chase led them through Worthington. Speeds reached more than 100 miles per hour, according to the release.

Deputies used stop sticks to deflate Husmann's tires just south of Dyersville.

The chase ended near the intersection of Hwy. 136 and Hwy. 20, where his car -- going just about five miles per hour at this point -- collided with a Dyersville Police car, causing about $4,000 in damage.

Husmann was arrested and pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday to the OWI and eluding charges.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office would not release the video of the chase, citing an open investigation.

Officials say no one was hurt in the chase.
