Police surround Marion home after domestic call

A Marion man is behind bars after police say he threatened to shoot himself if police were called.

Marion Police say Tuesday morning around 10:30 they responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue.

According to the press release, when officers arrived, they were told 24-year old Colton Warner had a gun and threatened to shoot himself if the police were called.

Responding offers were able to get two women out of the home safely and police set up a perimeter, blocking all traffic on 8th Ave.

Officers eventually made phone contact with the Warner, and after 25 minutes he agreed to come out of the residence and was taken into custody.

Warner was taken to the Linn County Jail on a charge of Domestic Assault.
