The Waterloo Police department has released the name of a fatal stabbing victim.

At about 4:30 Friday morning, police responded to a home at 1607 Randolph St. for a reported assault. There, they say they found Roosevelt Aldridge, 50, with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbor Becci Kucera watched the police from her porch across the street. She said she didn't know the people involved, but had seen 2 men and woman around the property. Still – she said she was upset to hear about the death.

“Yeah, I felt bad,” she said. “It was bad this morning.”

At this point, authorities say there is no danger to the public. Police believe everyone involved knew each other.

“We believe all parties involved or present at the time of the altercation have been accounted for, from what we understand,” said Waterloo Police Lt. Greg Fangman.

No arrests have been made. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning in Ankeny.
