UPDATE: Name released in fatal Waterloo stabbing

UPDATE: The Waterloo Police department has released the name of a fatal stabbing victim.

At about 4:30 Friday morning, police responded to a home at 1607 Randolph St. for a reported assault. There, they say they found Roosevelt Aldridge, 50, with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

At this point, authorities say there is no danger to the public, since they believe everyone involved knew each other.

No arrests have been made. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning in Ankeny.

Waterloo Police say they received a call around 4:30 a.m. Friday for an assault at 1607 Randolph St.

When police arrived, they found one person with stab injuries. That person was taken to a hospital, where he died.

We do not know what type of injuries this person had or what caused it, at this time.

Randolph Street is currently closed between Forest Avenue and Bertch Avenue, while police investigate.
