IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Lucky's Market will open their first store in Iowa this summer. It will be located in the former Von Maur space at 1668 Sycamore Street, now called The Iowa City Marketplace.

Lucky's Market carries organic, specialty and gluten-free items.

“We source the freshest local, organic, and traditionally crafted foods and offer them at a price that everyone can afford,” Bo Sharon, founder of Lucky's Market, said in a written statement. “At Lucky's Market, we believe that healthy food should be available to all walks of life, and want to bring it to more people. We are also just as passionate about our communities as we are about our food, and we look forward to supporting our new neighbors through a variety of local giving programs.”

Sharon says the Iowa City store will carry in-house cured and smoked bacon, fresh, local produce and fresh seafood. It will also have an in-house bakery. The store will be about 37,000 square feet and employ around 150 people.
