IOWA CITY (KWWL) - A Coralville man back in court Thursday facing charges after police say he kidnapped his young stepdaughter.

Kenneth Johns is charged with kidnapping, carrying weapons and being a felon with a firearm.

Police say he kidnapped his 10-year-old stepdaughter from Solon, prompting an AMBER Alert earlier this month.

Johns appeared to cry as the judge reads the kidnapping charges.

The judge reviewed multiple charges on multiple cases for Johns and set bond at $150,000.

The judge also banned Johns from contacting his stepdaughter.

Johns apologized to the judge for his previous court appearance when he got agitated following a fight in the Johnson County Jail.
