CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

This weekend the annual Maple Syrup Festival will kick off for the 32nd year.

Indian Creek Nature Center's signature event gives visitors the opportunity to taste fresh, real maple syrup made on site.

This month, the Nature Center has seen record numbers of people attending their public maple syruping programs, and they expect the trend to continue at this weekend's event.

The festival will be Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

“As a Nature Center, the weather tends to predict attendance at all of our events,” said Lindsey Flannery, Business Development Coordinator. “The forecast is beautiful for this weekend, and past festivals with nice weather have seen over 2,000 attendees.”

Ticket prices in advance: $8 adults, $4 children ages 4-12, ages three and under free.

At the door: $10 adults, $5 children ages 4-12, ages three and under free.

The festival will feature a pancake and sausage breakfast with real maple syrup, along with live syrup-making demonstrations in the Nature Center's Sugar House, educational displays showing how syrup was made by early and native Americans, and live music to enjoy during breakfast.

Reduced price advance tickets are available through Friday at noon at indiancreeknaturecenter.org or by calling 319-362-0664.
