IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

New charges have been officially filed against 48-year old Kenneth Johns, the man believed to have taken his step daughter earlier this month, sparking an AMBER alert.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office charged Johns with second degree kidnapping, felon in control of firearms, and carrying weapons.

He's accused abducting his 10-year-old step-daughter, Brianna Crane and threatening to kill his wife.

Along with the new charges, Johnson County deputies also released video Wednesday, where they say Johns bit another inmate.

The 3 minute, 45 seconds video shows the moments leading up the the jail fight, KWWL told you about earlier this month.

Johns was involved in a jail fight with another inmate where authorities say Johns was the primary aggressor, assaulting the other inmate.

The video appears to show Johns exchanging words with the other inmate. Johns quickly gets agitated.

About a minute passes by, the video shows Johns eventually taking his shirt off, balling his fists as if he's ready to take a jab.

Johns and the other inmate step into the cell and that's where authorities say the fight went down.

They tell us Johns bit the inmate on the leg and in the process of defending himself, the victim got a couple blows in too.

Johns was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics where he received outpatient treatment for his injuries.

Last week, Johns was charged with assault in connection to the jail fight, but Johns has a slew of other charges as well.

Coralville police Wednesday also filed charges against Johns, including a felon in possession of a firearm, 1st degree harassment, and domestic abuse displaying a weapon.

Johns is scheduled to be in a Johnson County Courtroom Thursday morning.

Johns is already booked into the Johnson County Jail. His bail on the new charges was set at $75,000 cash only.

Previously, Johns was charged with a parole violation and violating a no-contact order.
