IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center is set to have it's second series of educational workshops.

Pet Care 101 is an animal care and welfare workshop aimed at reviewing what it takes to bring an animal into your life, including time and financial commitments, physical and emotional investment, and legal responsibilities.

The workshop will also include topics on how to select the right pet for your lifestyle, where and how to find the right pet for your family, and tips for happy and healthy pets.

The program is geared for all ages. There is no fee to participate, and no preregistration is required.

It'll be led by Lisa Bragg, Program Director for the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, and Vicky DiBona, owner/operator of The Pet Sitters LLC in Iowa City and a volunteer for the Animal Center.

The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, from 1-2 p.m. at the Environmental Education Center at the East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd. SE.

For more information, call Animal Services Supervisor Liz Ford at 319-356-5296 or email liz-ford@iowa-city.org.
