CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

The man who caused officials to issue an AMBER Alert is now facing a new charge.

Kenneth Johns, 48, is accused of violating a no-contact order.

Earlier this month, Johns allegedly abducted his stepdaughter, prompting a weekend AMBER Alert.

After his arrest, he was accused of biting another inmate in jail.

During a court appearance on former charges, a judge issued a no-contact order. Now, Coralville Police say Johns tried to call the protected party from jail three times in 30 minutes.

Johns is now facing violation of a no-contact order.
