JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

A woman from Oxford is accused of breaking a church statue and then covering it up with her clothes.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says Tonya Bulten, 24 years old, went into St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford on Sunday morning.  Witnesses claim she had left a bar intoxicated before going into the church.

Investigators say she knocked over a statue of St. Anthony holding an infant. She was then accused of putting a rug over the statue, along with her skirt, tights and underwear. She also left her ID at the scene.

She's now been charged with criminal mischief.

The cost to replace the statue is $595.
