Cyclones escape Oklahoma 67-65 to reach Big 12 final

KANSAS CITY (KWWL) -

A little luck never hurts, and Iowa State certainly had some on their side Friday night. Oklahoma's Ryan Spangler blew a point blank lay-up in the final seconds that would've forced overtime. Instead, the 13th ranked Cyclones escaped with a 67-65 win over #15 Oklahoma.

Georges Viand had 13 points, Jameel McKay tallied 12, and Monte Morris added 11 as their Cyclone squad picked up their 4th straight win in games in which they trailed by double-digits.

Iowa State (24-8), the #2 seed, will look to defend their championship from last season when they face top seeded Kansas on Saturday night.
