Wahlert Boys beat Waverly-Shell Rock in 3A first round

 In a battle of the last two schools to win the 3A Boys State Championship, Dubuque Wahlert beat Waverly-Shell Rock 60-50 in a first round game in Des Moines. The Golden Eagles got 19 points from David Wedewer and an 18 point 17 rebound performance from Cordell Pemsl. The Go-Hawks were led by Jake Velky with 19 points and 12 from Camry Moore.
