WATERLOO (KWWL) -

As a part of the Kimball Avenue reconstruction project, MidAmerican Energy will be closing off some old natural gas lines that will require them to burn off some natural gas left in the lines.

The work will be happening this morning at the intersection of Bellaire Road and East Ridgeway Avenue.

The work requires residual gas left in the mains to be burned off. People may see gas flares or flames during the day and there may be a temporary gas smell in the area.

The Waterloo Fire Department will be on on-site while the work is going on.

Anyone with questions is asked to call MidAmerican Energy Customer Service at 888-427-5632.
