The University of Northern Iowa Panther men's basketball team are the Missouri Valley Conference champs and automatically have a spot in the NCAA tournament.

It's a season to remember for the men's basketball team.

"I think this was our year," said Marlene Schmidt, season ticket holder. "We had a lot of experience, a lot of kids who have been there before and who were really hungry for a victory."

Panther fans pack the McLeod Center and travel well, but the school only gets 350 tickets. A number of those tickets need to go to the team and school officials.

"Very limited number that actually will end up in the general public's hands," said Steve Schofield, UNI's Associate Athletics Director. "We should have an opportunity to get a few more tickets once we know where we're going."

The question on every Panther fans' mind: Where will they play?

"Well, I would hope we go to Omaha - that's the closest spot," said Monte Johnson, season ticket holder. "I hear some rumors we might go to Columbus, Ohio, or maybe Louisville, Kentucky. Those are both driving distance."

The university will host a selection show party on Sunday. It will take place at Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center with the doors opening at 4:30 p.m.
