If your kids are a little adventurous, the there are two spring break camps that might be the place for them.

The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is inviting adventurous kids between the ages of 8-12 years old to take part in unique spring break camp experiences at Ushers Ferry Historic Village.

Zombie Survival Camp is Monday-Thursday, March 16-19 or Monday-Thursday, March 23-26 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Participants will build a shelter, live off the land, find their way in the wilderness and assemble the necessary tools to survive any situation. Campers' survival skills will be tested on the last day with a tactical game of Humans vs. Zombies. The fee is $80 for Cedar Rapids residents and $88 for non-residents and includes a T-shirt.

For those girls wanting to learn the art of being a young lady, the Prairie Girl Primer is also being offered.

This camp, girls will learn the art and skill of being a young lady in the 19th century.

Girls ages 9-12 will have the opportunity to step back in time each day by putting on period correct clothing and spending the morning with handiwork, crafts, games, writing, tea engagements and having lots of fun as a proper young lady would.

The fee is $80 for Cedar Rapids residents and $88 for non-residents This camp will be offered Monday - Thursday, March 16-19 or Monday-Thursday, March 23-26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

A shorter session for younger girls, the Prairie Girl Primer for Little Ones will be offered on the same dates from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for girls ages 6-8 years old. Cost for this shorter session is $40 for Cedar Rapids residents and $47 for non-residents.
