JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) - At 9:35 a.m. Sunday morning, the Davenport Police Tactical Unit took Kenneth Johns, 48, into custody.

Johns, who according to online records by the Iowa Department of Corrections, is a convicted felon and served time behind bars for felony crimes.

After hours of negotiations, authorities finally took Johns into custody.

Authorities believe Johns has ties to someone living in the home, but say he lives in Johnson County.

Authorities believe Johns abducted Brianna Crane, 10, of Solon, on Saturday morning.

Johnson County deputies say they responded to a domestic call in Solon early Saturday morning.

"Responded to a call in Solon on a domestic call. While deputies were talking to the victim, Mr. Johns took the 10-year old girl," said Captain Gary Kramer with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities would not confirm if the victim is Crane's mother.

Minutes after the AMBER Alert was issued, several police agencies swarmed a home in the 1100 block of 12th Ave. in Coralville. Johnson County deputes, Iowa State Patrol, North Liberty Police, Iowa City Police and Coralville police were all on scene with weapons drawn.

However, authorities will not confirm if the Coralville scene is related to this case, but say they did follow leads in Iowa City and Coralville.

DPS Spokesperson Alex Murphy says Crane was dropped off in West Branch at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in good health, and that person is being questioned.

Yet, would not confirm who the third party is.

Authorities would also not confirm if there is any relationship between Crane and the third party, or between Johns and the third party

Johns is in the Scott County Jail and is expected to be transferred to  Johnson County Monday morning.

Murphy says Johns is set to face multiple charges including kidnapping.
