DUBUQUE (KWWL) - A Dubuque woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and a Dubuque man was arrested after an alleged hit-and-run Wednesday.

Anthony C. Goodman, 34, of Dubuque, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with serious injury by vehicle, a felony. Dubuque Police say Goodman was also initially "processed" with operating while intoxicated, but has not been charged as of Wednesday with that crime.

According to police, Goodman was driving in the 1500 block of Central Avenue in Dubuque when his Toyota Corolla swerved, striking Colleen Bartels, 40, of Dubuque, as she was exiting her legally-parked Chevrolet pickup.

Police say Goodman then fled the scene but was located a short time later in the area of Auburn and Delaware streets.

Bartels was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious leg injuries, according to police.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage from the crash.

Goodman remains in the Dubuque County Jail.
