IOWA CITY (KWWL) - University of Iowa senior Kathryn Reynolds has earned the 2015 Charles T. Stoner Law Scholarship Award from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

As a member of the Iowa women's basketball program, Reynolds, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, has twice been named to the Academic All-Big Ten list and is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished  Scholar. Reynolds shot 40-percent from the field, 34-percent from three-point range and 83-percent from the free throw line.

As a student, Reynolds graduated with distinction in just three years, earning a degree in business administration and an emphasis on management. She maintained a 3.69 grade-point average.

Off the court and outside the classroom, Reynolds has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Hawkeye PRIDE/Community School Tutoring Program and Ronald McDonald House.

"I am thrilled to present Kathryn with the Charles T. Stoner Law Scholarship Award, WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew said in a written statement. “Kathryn has proven to be an astute student, and a great competitor on the court. Throughout her time at the University of Iowa, she has learned invaluable lessons that will allow her to succeed in her future endeavors.”

Reynolds will be recognized during the WBCA Awards Show being held on April 6 in Tampa as part of the WBCA National Convention and the NCAA® Women's Final Four®.

The $1,000 scholarship is named for, and presented by, Charles A. Stoner, a former legal consultant to the WBCA.
