CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Nick Ellis did it again. For the second straight game that Aplington-Parkersburg junior hit a shot in the final seconds to keep the Falcons alive. Ellis kissed an inside shot off the glass with 2.8 seconds remaining to knock off top ranked New Hampton sending the #3 Falcons to the Boys 2A State Tournament.

New Hampton, trailing for much of the game, finally tied it with a Tucker Tenge 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining. That set up Ellis' winning shot. The Chickasaws had a shot in the final seconds, but Tenge's half court effort drew backboard and iron and fell harmlessly to the floor.

Jake Schipper led A-P with 19 points in the game. Ellis added 15.

Jared Nicolaisen led the way for New Hampton with 16.
