An Iowa City man faces charges after police say he stole jewelry while cat-sitting. John Bollinger-Orr, 21, was booked in the Johnson County Jail early Friday morning.

Criminal complaints say he took 11 pieces of jewelry while watching a woman's cat for her while she was out of the state. The stuff he allegedly took was worth $5,000. The complaint says he took the jewelry on four separate days between January 15 and 21. Bollinger-Orr was caught on security video selling the items at Money and More; the complaint says he got $524 for selling the jewelry.

Bollinger-Orr is charged with 2nd degree theft.
