IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

With another round of snow comes another round of tricky travel.

"Yeah, this doesn't seem so bad compared to past winters," said Veronica Tessler.

Road crews tell us streets will be slick and they've got plow drivers working double shifts.

"We're still good with the amount of salt that we have, but we're ready for spring like everybody else," said Iowa City Streets superintendent Jon Ressler.

Ressler says crews ordered about 4,000 tons of salt this year - that's a 1,000 more tons of salt than last year.

He says they're hoping so they're hoping their supply will get them through the rest of this winter season.

Around this time in 2014, Ressler says they were getting very nervous looking for options in getting more salt because they gone through almost all 3,000 tons.

"Because last year was so bad," said Ressler. "Not necessarily with the amount of snow, but number of storms, we used more salt than normal."

As for the people having to drive out in the snowy conditions, like Veronica Tessler, they just learn to go with the flow.

Veronica Tessler: "I've learned to deal with it, but I look forward to it going away," said Tessler.
