Officers arrest a man a few hours after they're called for a domestic disturbance involving him and his girlfriend, whom he lived with. Officers met up with the woman at a gas station in North Liberty who says her boyfriend had been threatening her; police went back to the house, but he was gone.

Officers eventually arrested Dillon Sage, 23, who is accused of threatening his girlfriend with both a knife and a stick of dynamite.

According to criminal complaints, the woman told officers that Sage stabbed her pillows with a knife saying "this is what happens to whores." He's also accused of wrestling her phone from her, and threatening her with a stick of dynamite that he had from construction work if she didn't help him pack his stuff.

She was eventually able to leave the home with her son and go to the gas station where she used the phone to call the cops.

When cops went to her house to find Sage, they did find a cut in one her pillow cases.

Sage was booked in the Johnson County Jail on Thursday evening. He's charged with first-degree harassment and domestic abuse-assault with intent or displaying a weapon.
