CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The inaugural "Iowa Bowl" will kick-off Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.

The "Iowa Bowl" is what the Cedar Rapids Titans are calling their games against the Iowa Barnstormers from Des Moines.

The Barnstormers are in their first season in the Indoor Football League after making the move from the Arena Football League.

The two teams are hoping to ignite an in-state rivalry with the home-and-home series that does include a traveling trophy.

The first game is Saturday, February 28 in Cedar Rapids. The Titans will travel to Des Moines for the second game on Saturday, May 16.

"It's an honor to play a storied franchise like the Barnstormers," Titans Co-Owner & General Manager Chris Kokalis said in a written statement. "This should be a great rivalry for both of our fan bases."

This year marks the Barnstormers 20th season in existence. Cedar Rapids native and future NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner got his start in Des Moines, leading the Barnstormers to two AFL Arena Bowl appearances in 1996 and 1997. Barnstormers Head Coach Joe Brannen played college football at Coe College.
