The Ainsworth Opera House is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary.  http://ainsworthoperahouse.org/

That's why the legendary Washington County gem will host two nights of what it's calling 'World Premiere' events of early film and music.

The special Centennial celebration will be held on the evenings of March 6 and 7, and will serve as a benefit for the Ainsworth Opera House.

Films from the renowned Brinton Film Collection will be shown both nights.

In addition, Red Cedar Chamber Music has selected or commissioned music for each film to be shown, and will accompany these classic early films as they are being shown.

The Brinton Film Collection is one of the most significant assortments of early films in the world. The films date back to 1895, and were made between 1895 and 1908.

These films were originally shown at the Ainsworth Opera House.

Centennial celebration participants are being encouraged to dress for the 'World Premiere' as they feel comfortable.

Seating is limited, so reservations must be made in advance of the March 6 and 7 events.

Tickets are $ 40.00. For additional information, or to reserve seats, contact Michael Zahs at 319-653-6250.

Past supporters of the Brinton Film Festival are also asked to contact Michael Zahs to make special ticket arrangements.
