WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The World's Greatest Spring Break for Kids will happen from March 16-20, giving families the opportunity to participate in hands-on fun at nine downtown Waterloo attractions.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the R.J. McElroy Trust, admission is only $1. Discounts only are available when adults accompany the children.

This year, in honor of the McElroy Trust celebrating its 59th anniversary, the Waterloo Public Library will give away 1,000 books to children. 

Special admission is available for:

-Phelps Youth Pavilion at the Waterloo Center for the Arts: Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm

- Phelps FunSpace at College Square Mall: Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm

- John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum: Tuesday – Friday, 10am – 6pm. Admission is free for children 12 and under. The Museum will not be open on Monday, March 16. (New to World's Greatest Spring Break in 2015.)

- National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum: Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm

- Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum & Grout Museum: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm , $1 admission. $1 admission also available on Saturday 3/14 & 3/21, Planetarium shows daily: 10am, Noon, 2pm, & 4pm

- Bluedorn Science Imaginarium: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm , $1 admission: $1 admission also available on Saturday 3/14 & 3/21, (Science demos daily: 10am, Noon, 2pm, & 4pm)

- Waterloo Public Library: Monday – Thursday 9am – 9pm & Friday 9am - 6pm, free.

$1 Sessions. Special Days and Times.

- Black Hawk Children's Theatre at the Walker Building

Monday – Friday. Live performances at 1pm & 3pm daily

-Young Arena Ice Skating

Monday: Three sessions daily: Noon – 1pm, 2 – 3pm, & 4 – 5pm.

Tuesday: Four sessions: 10 – 11am, Noon – 1pm, 2 – 3pm, & 4 – 5pm.

Wednesday: Three sessions: 10 – 11am, Noon – 1pm, & 4 – 5pm.

Thursday: Three sessions daily: Noon – 1pm, 2 – 3pm, & 4 – 5pm.

Additional $1 for Skate Rental. Helmets & pads recommended.

-Cedar Valley SportsPlex Swimming (pool only)

Monday – Friday: Two sessions daily: 9 – 10am & 11am – Noon.

-Meet the Box Trolls! at the Waterloo Public Library Co-Sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley & Waterloo Public Library
