IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man is in custody after allegedly selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer near Longfellow Elementary School.

According to criminal complaints, Iowa City Police officers bought 1 gram of meth from Dennis Delaney, 46, at his home on Longfellow Place at the beginning of February; the officers field tested the drug and determined it was, in fact, meth. After that, the police executed a search warrant and found two big bags with white residue in them, and that residue also tested positive for meth.

Delaney was booked in the Johnson County Jail on Monday night. He's charged with a controlled substance violation and possession of a controlled substance.
