UPDATE:  The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has released more information on a snowmobile crash.

The Sheriff's Office says they went to a home in Oxford this morning after Jonathan Walte called 911 and reported he and Abbie McCracken had been in a snowmobile accident earlier in the evening.

Walte and McCracken were taken to the University of Iowa Hospital Emergency Room by ambulance.

Neither person could tell law enforcement where the accident occurred or who owns the snowmobile.

The accident is currently under investigation.

Walte was released from the Hospital and taken into custody for warrants out of Linn County.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says two people are in the hospital after a snowmobile crash, but some of the key details about that crash remain a mystery.

Investigators say they were called after 6 a.m. Friday from a man saying he and a passenger were in a snowmobile crash in the Oxford area. The sheriff's office says deputies have been unable to find where it happened, but they know two people are now in the hospital in Iowa City. Deputies are there now asking questions.
