PALO (KWWL) -

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will hold a public information session on February 23 to discuss the $3.5 million upgrades planned for Pleasant Creek Lake near Palo.

Improvements to Pleasant Creek Lake, a 410-acre lake completed in the late 1970's, will include rock armoring to stop erosion, shoreline deepening, the addition of fishing jetties and additional rocks and trees fr fish habitat.

The plan calls for the lake depth by 15 feet this fall to allow for the construction work that is expected to be completed by Spring 2016. Lake Macbride received similar upgrades in 2002.

The session will be held on Monday, February 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Linn County Conservation Department's Wickiup Hill Education Center.
