Calls about Seven Bridges continue in Evansdale

Posted: Updated:
BREMER COUNTY (KWWL) - It's been a week since authorities renewed their push to find the killer of Evansdale cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins.

After the girls were abducted, their bodies were found months later at Seven Bridges Wildlife Area in Bremer County.

Authorities now want to talk to anyone familiar with that area.

Frank Frederick, Bremer County Conservation Board Director, and his crew monitor Seven Bridges Wildlife Area. He was shocked to hear Lyric and Elizabeth were found there.

"First of all, for the family and friends of those two girls, who probably had no idea what was going on and what the purpose of why they are abducted was," said Frederick.

Frederick says it was tough to come back to the area for the first time since the bodies were found.

"Ironic that you could have been there earlier and felt one way, and then go back and you're always wondering if you could have made a difference or something could have been done," said Frederick.

He says the park is used on a daily basis, but they don't have a way to monitor who comes and goes into the area.

Since the news conference last week, more than 250 calls have come into the tip line.

Again, if you know anything about Seven Bridges Wildlife Area, the tip line in Evansdale is 319-232-6682.
