Three $10,000 Iowa winners in Saturday Powerball, jackpot reaches $450 million

DES MOINES (KWWL) - There were no jackpot winners in Saturday's Powerball drawing, which means the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is currently at an estimated $450 million. It is now the third-largest jackpot in the history of the Powerball and 5th largest of any game in North America.

Iowans still claimed a few winners over the weekend, with three tickets winning $10,000.
Each ticket matched four of the five five numbers and the Powerball.  They were sold in Center Point, Sioux City, and Dysart.

Now with the jackpot approaching half a billion dollars, lottery fever is upon us.

It's been nearly a year since the Powerball jackpot was this high.
$425.3 million was the prize won in the drawing on February 19, 2014.

The record Powerball jackpot of $590.5 million was won in the drawing on May 18, 2013, by a Florida woman.

The largest lottery jackpot in the world was a $656 million Mega Millions prize won on March 30, 2012.
It was split by three tickets in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland.
