A-P boys remain prefect, defeat DNH 64-47

PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -

 Top ranked Aplington-Parkersburg surged late to take down Dike-New Hartford 64-47. With the win, the Falcons captured their first outright NICL East title in 17 years.

Nick Waller led the way with a big 27 point effort.

Dike-New Hartford gave the Falcons a challenge early. Behind a strong effort on the offensive boards, the Wolverines would lead by 2 after one quarter. A-P got things going in the second to take an 18-17 lead at half.

The Falcons started hitting shots in the third quarter. Waller hit a pair of threes in a one minute span as A-P would push the lead to 9 going in to the third quarter. After the Wolverines cut the edge to 5, the Falcons responded with a 14-2 run in the final 4 minutes to seal the win.

Ben Latusek led the DNH effort with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
