New 'Ghostbusters' will feature an all-female cast

The "Ghostbusters" reboot that you've been hearing rumors about is officially on the way -- and this time, it seems four women will be doing the busting.

Director Paul Feig on Wednesday tweeted a photo of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and "Saturday Night Live" cast members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

A few hours later, he sent this follow-up tweet: "In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 22, 2016. Save the date!"

Feig directed a cast that included McCarthy and Wiig in the 2011 comedy "Bridesmaids." Two years later, he worked with McCarthy again in "The Heat."

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson played the group of four "Ghostbusters" in the original 1984 film.
