Hawks fall at Purdue as injury sidelines White

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (KWWL) -

Mike Gesell scored 18, but it wasn't enough as Iowa fell 67-63  at Purdue. The loss was the second straight for the Hawkeyes.

Things became challenging for Iowa in the first half after losing Aaron White to a shoulder injury. The senior forward played just 7 minutes in the contest.

The two teams battled it out down the stretch. Gesell hit a jumper with 1:18 remaining to give Iowa a 63-62 lead. Purdue, however, answered on the ensuing possession as Raphael Davis hit from the arc for a 65-63 lead. The Boilermakers would hold that edge the rest of the way.

Gabe Olesani scored 9 for Iowa in the game and grabbed a career high 16 rebounds.
