DYERSVILLE (KWWL) -

Three Clayton County men were arrested Thursday evening after police says they were using counterfeit money in Dyersville.

Dyersville Police Chief Brent Schroeder says his department was called at around 4:53 p.m. from a local business saying counterfeit money was being passed around.

The officer responding to the call was able to identify that the vehicle being used by the individuals was from Clayton County.

The Clayton County Sheriff's Office, who located the vehicle, detained and interviewed the suspects. A search of a Guttenberg home turned up drugs and counterfeit money.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Ryan Joseph Murphy, 24-year-old Levi Michael Walker and 20-year-old Justice DJ Krambeer, all of Guttenberg. Murphy and Walker face two counts of forgery for counterfeit bills. Krambeer faces one count of the same charge.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected to be filed.
