Super Bowl TV shoppers spend more than holiday shoppers

Data collected by ShopAdvisor since Black Friday 2013 shows consumers are spending more money on televisions for Super Bowl Sunday than they do on Black Friday and at Christmas time.

Last year, Super Bowl-inspired TV buyers spent 22 percent more than those who bought TVs on Black Friday, and 57 percent more than those who bought TVs during Christmas.

And it appears bigger is better for the big game this year.

ShopAdvisor says this year, 83 percent of the TVs that consumers are eyeing for Super Bowl Sunday have screens 55 inches or larger, compared to 69 percent last year.
