DAVENPORT (KWWL) - An eastern Iowa man has been sentenced to over 15 years in prison for his role in heroin trafficking.  36-year-old Demario Palmer, of Davenport, obtained heroin from the Chicago-land area.

Along with help from others, Palmer distributed the drugs in the Davenport area between 2008 and 2014.  He was arrested in June of 2014, in which police found seven and a half grams of heroin and a firearm.

The total amount of heroin distributed by Palmer is over one kilogram.  He will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
