CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - One of the Cedar Rapids Police Department's four-legged officers is retiring.


Yoeri is ten and a half years old and has been serving the department for 7 years. 


Yoeri is trained to help catch suspects and locate illegal drugs.


In his time off, Yoeri lived with with handler, Officer Casey Bilden.


Officers say Yoeri is looking forward to playing more Frisbee in his retirement.


The Cedar Rapids Police Department has 7 K9 teams. Six dogs are trained to find drugs and one is a bomb/explosives dog. A K9 unit is assigned to every shift.
