CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

On Friday, January 30, members of the Cedar Rapids Police department will face off against Harding Middle School students for the eighth annual Kids vs. Cops Dodge Ball Tournament.

The event is organized by the Harding Student Council and benefits the CRPD K-9 Unit to assist with purchasing and training dogs and equipment for the dogs.


The officers and students participate in a friendly dodge ball competition that helps build trust and relationships between officers and kids.


The event will be help from 1 to 2:45 p.m. in the Harding School gymnasium.


K-9 Unit dogs will be in attendance of the event.
