CASS COUNTY (KWWL) -

An Iowa woman pleaded guilty to lying about her daughter having cancer and injecting the child with drugs, but will face no jail time.

Leatha Slauson pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges, but a Cass County judge decided prison time would not benefit Slauson.

A psychologist testified in court saying Slauson suffers from a psychiatric disorder. Slauson is receiving treatment for that disorder.

Slauson was given five years' probation and is denied any contact with her children.
