WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank hopes for 'Souper' turnout with their collection drive that coincides with the NFL Championship game.

The 'Souper Bowl of Caring' is a national movement, according to the group, which gathers food donations during the Super Bowl.

Organizers hope churches and other groups will collect donations prior to the big game on Feb. 1. 100% of donations made in the Cedar Valley will go to the NE Iowa Food Bank.

“Much of the work of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank is done through collaboration churches and religious organizations in our community. Souper Bowl of Caring allows us to once again work together in helping the hungry in Northeast Iowa,” commented Barbara Prather, Executive Director of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

To donate, call 319-235-0507.
