Man survives jump from moving party bus

HILLS (KWWL) -

One person was hurt jumping out of a speeding party bus, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

It happened Friday night on Highway 218 near mile marker 84, just south of Hills. Deputies told KWWL the bus was going 65 MPH when a 26-year-old man opened the rear emergency exit and jumped.

He was taken to the hospital, and is expected to survive. His identity has not been released.

The bus was operated by company out of West Burlington, according to authorities.

Under Iowa law, the consumption of alcohol is allowed on board party buses.
