Used prom dresses being collected for charity

WATERLOO (KWWL) - An organization is collecting prom dresses that will be sold to support the Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls in their mission to help teenagers in the Cedar Valley.

Prom's Closet is collecting gently used dresses, shoes and accessories. The items will then be sold at the end of February with all proceeds going to the Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls.

Dresses and other prom related donations can be dropped off during business hours until Wednesday, February 18th. Locations are Milroy's Tuxedo/Varsity Cleaners and UNI's Student Involvement Center in Cedar Falls; Crossroads Center's Mall Office, Milroy's Tuxedo, Hawkeye Community College's Brock Student Center, and Columbus High School in Waterloo; Wartburg College's Volunteer Action Center in Waverly.

The sale will be held on Friday, February 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 28 from10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crossroads Center Mall lower level.  Only cash will be accepted for payment during the sale.

Dresses will be sold for $10, formal shoes for $3 and accessories, including purses and jewelry, will be sold for $1.
