WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo police are investigating three separate reports of shots fired overnight.

The first call came in after 8 p.m. Sunday at West 5th and Western Avenue. Police found shell casings and witnesses saw a small car leaving at a high rate of speed, but they have no suspects. Nothing was hit.

About an hour later, there was another report not far from the first one.  After 9 p.m., people said they heard shots ring out in the 500 block of Locust Street. Shell casings were found, nothing was hit and no one was arrested.

The last call came hours later (2:43 a.m. Monday) at West 1st and Locust. Three people were seen running down the road after a report of a shot being fired. Nothing was hit, but police say they did connect this investigation to another recent case on West 1st. Officers say they arrested a 17-year-old who's been charged with several counts, including unauthorized possession of a weapon.
