Top ranked Iowa wrestlers roll past Illinois

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -  Alex Meyer provided the biggest spark on a night of ups and downs for the top ranked Hawkeyes in a 25-12 win over #11 Illinois..

Trailing 5-3 late against 6th ranked Zac Brunson, Meyer put Brunson on his back picking up a fall with one second left on the clock. That was the high point for the Hawkeyes who won 7 of the 10 matches against the Illini.

Hawkeye coach Tom Brands clearly saw a few things he didn't like as well. Iowa's 4th ranked 133 pounder Cory Clark lost a 6-5 decision to #5 Zane Richards and 15th ranked Michael Kelly would get tech falled by #5 Isaiah Martinez 21-6.

Still, the outcome was never in doubt as Iowa improved to 9-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big Ten matches.
