UPDATE: Two charged with damaging Anamosa Veteran's Memorial

The second of two men charged with the November 4th vandalism of the Anamosa Veteran's Memorial has turned himself in.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday that charges were filed against 21-year-old Zachary Egan Hansen and 20-year-old Coty Joseph Lukemyres had been charged in connection with the vandalism that caused more than $1,000 damage to the memorial outside the Jones County Courthouse. Flag poles and flags were damaged and other flags were stolen.

Hansen and Lukemyres each face charges of second degree criminal mischief, trespass causing more than $200 damage and fifth degree theft.

Hansen turned himself in to Jones County authorities on Monday. Lukemyres turned himself in to the Oelwein Police Department on Tuesday.
