WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls is short $33,000 of their Christmas fund raising campaign goal of $727,000, the organization announced.

The money raised during the campaign makes up 40 percent of the annual budget for the Salvation Army.

Salvation Army officials noted $33,000 can be used to pay the rent, utility or water bill for 330 Cedar Valley families, can pay a camp experience for 440 kids, or could be the co-pay for 660 prescriptions. The money they still need can also be gas vouchers for 1320 scheduled medical appointments.

The campaign continues for another three weeks. You can donate online at onlineredkettle.org, in person at 89 Franklin Street in Waterloo from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed noon-12:30 p.m.), or by mail at PO Box 867, Waterloo, IA 50704.

For more information about the campaign goal or to find out how to volunteer, contact The Salvation Army at (319) 235-9358.
