DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Fighting Saints had their five game overall win streak snapped Friday night with a 4-3 loss to the Sioux Falls Stampede.

But a little home cooking got them back on track Saturday night.

Willie Knierim and Brett Boeing each scored twice as the Saints thumped the Lincoln Stars, 7-1.

Jacob Benson, Gordie Green and Evan Smith all added goals in the lopsided affair.

Gavin Nieto turned away 29 shots, and improves to 5-1-0 on the season.

With the win, the Saints improve to 20-8-2 with 42 points, and remain one point ahead of third place Muskegon.

Three Fighting Saints, Dylan Gambrell, Seamus Malone and Blake Hillman, take their home ice again Tuesday, but this time as part of the United States Hockey League Top Prospect Game.  The game features 40 of the best players from around the league.  Tickets are still available for this premiere event.  Tickets to the major event start at just $10 and available by calling 563-583-6880 or online at DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
