Clive couple arrested for kidnapping, sexual abuse of woman

Posted: Updated:

Two people from Clive have been arrested several states away and are being accused of kidnapping and sexual abuse.

Aldar Hodza and Laura Sorensen were arrested after Virginia officials say a young woman was found in their RV at a truck stop in New Kent County, Virginia.

Officials were tipped off by a truck driver, who said there was suspicious activity in the RV.

According to court documents, a state trooper approached the RV and questioned Hodza and Sorensen inside the camper. That's when the trooper noticed a young woman who looked frightened and malnourished.

The trooper then asked to speak with the victim alone, which is when the victim said she was being held against her will.

The victim told the trooper she was being held against her will and abused both physically and sexually.

She said Hodza and Sorensen branded her back, burned her and cut her feet.

The victim says she was also forced to perform sex acts on Hodza and another male, the latter of which was arranged through the website Craigslist.

KWWL does not release the names of victims of sexual abuse.
